Fourteen authors for a Capital
"Accadde a Pechino" is the title of a book published in 2010 by the Institute of Italian Culture of Beijing following a Conference of Italian and Chinese writers of thrillers, noir and mystery in 2009 at Beijing and Tianjin.
For the very first time in China, fourteen prominent Italian and Chinese writers met to share their professional experiences. Under the organization of the Institute of Italian Culture of Beijing and with the collaboration of Alessandro Vaccari, many conferences and round tables were held in different universities.
From these experiences a double book was produced, published in both Italian and Chinese (with two "upsidedown" covers), with tales written by Piero Colaprico, Danila Comastri Montanari, Giancarlo De Cataldo, Giorgio Faletti, Marcello Fois, Isaia Iannaccone, Carlo Lucarelli, Bruno Morchio, Margherita Oggero and Alberto Toso Fei among the Italians; Feng Hua, He Jiahong, Nanpai Sanshu and Qiu Xiaolong among the Chinese.
Including fourteen short, funny, romantic original stories written by a group of important authors of the genre from the two countries: every writer gave his personal interpretation of China and Beijing, following his own style and writing of different times and situations.
